Amy Lee's voice sounds super smooth through an Omnitop with the correct EQ settings

Re: BFM Hit List...
Have had 'Joey Landreth - Hindsight' album on repeat in the car. Not a long album, but 6 or so very good tracks on there.

My go to is Rage Against The Machine - Bombtrack. I'm not a huge RATM fan, but that whole album is mastered so well and the kick sounds amazing.
Re: BFM Hit List...
My 1 test song for any of my stereo equipment, when I get it, is:
Uninvited - Alanis Morissette
Stunning voice, full orchestra, piano, thundering bass....It has it all. Top to bottom!

Re: BFM Hit List...
That's nice Charles. Tasty and clean reverb on the guitar and vocals. Intelligibility and texture on the vocal is very nice, intimate. A bit of grumble in the bass, yet still relatively smooth. The snare seems pretty standard, but the kick is interesting. Sound's purposefully gated with a relatively slow attack and quick release, doesn't have a lot of leading snap and the low end tail disappears quick, leaving just the punchy meat and potatoes in between. I like how the drums are mixed from background to foreground throughout the song.Charles Jenkinson wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 10:37 am Am back with Bros. Landreth; Master Plan

Not too much crispness in this one. It's got an odd mix to it, with the highs somewhat subdued in the mix, it becomes smooth and silky. Fat lumpy bottom end with texture. I really enjoy this song with my earbuds and would love to hear it on Corona's (ex)club system.

Re: BFM Hit List...
Y hit list is too huge to put it here. But in the minimal testing I've done I've enjoyed:
The Dolphins Cry - Live
Fear of the Dark - Iron Maiden (pretty much anything from these guys)
That Smell/Saturday Night Special - Skynyrd (aka the holy grail)
Feelin' Good, Stop!, Too Much Ain't Enough, Down Around My Place, Sloe Gin - Joe Bonamassa (and others)
Would? - Alice in Chains
Fight the Good Fight/Lay it on the Line - Triumph
Mama Let Him Play - Jerry Doucette
Movin' On - Missouri
There are probably many others but those are the ones I tested out. All were phenomenal. Some of the older ones weren't quite as crispy as the newer recordings but they still hit hard. My $0.02

Another song that just pounds on my system: Crush, by Polyphia. If you''re a guitarist, you have to check out Tim Henson. Simply unreal kid, so talented. He can shred with the best of them, but is so musical.

Re: BFM Hit List...
I thoroughly enjoyed that track. Smooth, thumpy lumpy bass intro, developing into a bit of RHCP/Flea-esk tone, solid kick, and yes... very musical lead. Good overall mix. Played very nicely on the single T39 and pair of shorty SLAP's.himhimself wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2020 3:12 pm Another song that just pounds on my system: Crush, by Polyphia. Definitely a thumbs up Thanks for the post. I enjoyed that.

Re: BFM Hit List...
Reading that reminded me of a show we did several months back. I've never been a metal player....just doesn't float my boat, but I had a young guy come up to me as soon as I got off the stage and said, "Man, you were shredding!". After gigging on guitar for 45 years, that's the first time anyone has ever said that to me..... I thanked him and tried like hell not to laugh....himhimself wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2020 3:12 pm Another song that just pounds on my system: Crush, by Polyphia. This Cory Henry track is on my list for next time my system is out. My kids complain when I put his Hammond B3 album on on the Sonos - I tell them it's a necessary part of their musical education. One track is a particular 'Sonos breaker', but this one is more groove than frequency content, but will still suit a good PA system.

I really REALLY like organ music. My Dad used to be an organ salesman back in the late 70's. Loved it then, love it now. I totally dig it Charles! Which one is the "Sonos Breaker"?Charles Jenkinson wrote: ↑Mon Apr 27, 2020 2:12 am This Cory Henry track is on my list for next time my system is out. Re: BFM Hit List...
It was Precious Lord. After turning it down and hitting repeat, I felt inspired to pick up the Bichon (dog) for a dance in the middle 3:15 answering phrase section. My wife got it on video - he was thoroughly unimpressed, i.e. resisting his theatrical education. It's funny / clean - not for public consumption though.
