Thought I cooked a LAB12 in a T39. My brother used part of my rig at a DJ gig for a wedding g reception.
He said he didnt run it that hard, but said halfway through the night, he assumed he lost a power amp because the subs lost some oomph.
Took the driver out to test, and found the coil former fell right out of the cone assembly. Looks like the epoxy joint failed.
No burned wires, no other obvious damage.
Anyone ever seen this, and could it be prevented?

MCM drivers are notorious for the coil separating from the spider. This is stranger being that it's of "higher quality", but I'd call up Eminence and see what's up. Maybe you'll get a recone kit outta it.
