Posting Photos

#1 Post by mj90210 »

Could someone explain how to post photos, preferably using google photos? Sorry if it is a redundant question but I am having a heck of a time.

Thanks!

There may be a better way but...
I resize the photo to something less than 700 x something, then upload to google photos, then click share and copy link.
Paste that copied link to here:
https://ctrlq.org/google/photos/

That will generate a new link, copy that, then in your post click on the embed photo icon and paste your new link in between the img] things.

I do it all on the phone, it’s not super quick, but simple enough.

The forum will automatically resize files now. If you are using your phone, add files should go to your library, which is more often than not your photos.

If you are using Google Photos, there is one of two ways:

1) Download the pictures to your computer and then click 'Attachments' in the full reply editor (not the quick one at the bottom the thread) and then 'Add Files'

2) Getting the image link and inserting image as J_Dunavin described. This can be problematic as the forum will block images over 900 pixels and I'm not sure you can get variable image sizes from google.

Ya, I always have to resize em.
I’ll have to give the attachment thing a go.

I never saw the download attachments option before. Even now, it took me a moment to find it (under the Save draft/Preview/Submit buttons). That's handy!
And it shows a nice large picture when I click on the image. That's awesome!
