Every port is tuned, whether it has a duct or not.

Do you mean that any tuning behavior comes from the dimensions of the slot?

Does the 6th Order example in the image below characterize the general case of the design for these boxes?

Not that it really matters. The only certainty is that they are odd. I'll report back on with subjective impressions when I have them working.

It does. Remove the duct and you still have a tuned port. Once upon a time ducts weren't used at all. The advantage of the duct is that it lowers tuning, allowing for a smaller chamber volume for the same result.
