Eminence News

#1 Post by Bruce Weldy »

A little update on Eminence.

There is a price increase coming on October 1st, so if you are on the fence - get it done now and save a few bucks.

There are two new speakers.....(that might matter to us)...

KL 3010HO - unfortunately is looks to be a little out of spec for a Jack 10.....Bill can weigh in.

KL 3010LF - Haven't check the specs, but this is the replacement for the old 3010LF with 8 bolt holes instead of 4. If you look it up, make sure you specify KL and not Kappalite or you'll see the spec sheet for the old one.

6 - T39 3012LF
4 - OT12 2512
1 - T24
1 - SLA Pro
2 - XF210

Doing a little looking......the specs on the 3010LF are good for a T39 except for Vas. Range is 60-125 and it's 47.

The 3010HO is built on the new round 3010 frame, but the specs are the same as the previous version, so it's suitability or lack of same is the same as before. The 3010LF is also built on the new round frame, and although it's specs have changed a bit, if anything it's for the better, so it's still the premium subwoofer ten. The 3010LF in the square frame was discontinued but I had it on good authority that a round frame version was going to eventually replace it, so I never took it out of the plans where it was recommended. The new Vas is a bit low, but in the narrower cabs it makes no difference, and the difference in the widest cabs isn't enough to be an issue.

This just came up for me....... so, would the new 3010HO be a good fit for a DR250? It's pretty far out on Vas.

The 3010HO is very slightly higher in midrange sensitivity and xmax than the 2510, but IMO not enough to make it worth the higher price. If it had a 6mm xmax then I'd say it's worthwhile.

That's what I needed to hear. Thanks.
