any on heard these Yorkville Paraline series

#1 Post by T_Gowan »

Any one have any experience with these speakers the PSA1 top or the PSA1S sub. One of the bands I play in insists on renting these if we do an outdoor gig. For indoor they have the old Mackie 450s. when ever I talk about better design or proper sub placement they look at me like I have 2 heads or im spouting Black Magic talk. Im always on stage so I never hear the results.

I hope they plan on renting at least four of them. They're not quite the same configuration as a 4x6 SLA Pro, but pretty close, so they'd compete with a 4x6 SLA Pro, but an OTop 12 would bitch slap them, hard. If they do the usual one per side pole mounted on split subs the result is predictable: Mediocre.

That is exactly how they deploy them. One top and on sub per side. I have been trying to get it through that subs should not be set up this way .
I have 2 DR200 and 2 T39 20". how may do I need to put these puppies to shame. I intended to double my count last winter but it didn't happen, Hopefully this winter

 Still want to double my count. I have so many friend in the Pro and Semi pro sound business and I cant convince that there is a better way than the commercial configurations that we have been force feed all our lives.

My experience over many years with things Yorkville has been positive, not so much in terms of cabs, but moreso powered mixers and power amps. I'm servicing one of their Audiopro 3400's at the moment. A couple of mates have used some of their cabs for quite a while.

What is that rig costing to hire?
Double your cab count as you want to do, you will probably need that for sub count outdoors anyway.
Maybe offer one gig with your rig for free as a one time only offer???
Maybe that might be what gets them turned around...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

The rent is quite reasonable in my view but the cost to purchase for each top and sub is just shy of 2000 dollars Canadian.
