No more studio - but Cornhole!
Yeah, for those that missed the studio update, I am no longer with that co.
However, In my spare time (aside from trying to make a living and building BFM's) I got into creating cornhole board sets!
That's right, the time-honored bag toss games that most slap together with old 2x4's and Auroco, some even reducing themselves to OSB! (Egaad!)
Not this guy. I figured that B/BB Baltic birch and premium, knot-free lumber was the way to go. I also add many things not available on most boards, but I'll let the images speak for that.
Here is my first set, I ended up giving them to my sister in law (cancer survivor) as a gift:

And my second set, modeled after the 1960 Ford 971 Rowcrop Tractor that my son and I rebuilt in '14. The image is the actual tractor!
Also notice the nifty score board area, using the correct color golf tees, not only will your drink NOT spill, but you can have as many as you want, and not lose track of how many bags you are not scoring with! WIN!
Proofs!

And my third set.
This one is a tribute to my wife and I. When you've been married for 34 years you better do something!
Now with lights and bottle openers!!

Re: No more studio - but Cornhole!
My fourth set was an interesting one, a buddy of mine (a bass player of all things HA!) wanted a set with a beach theme. He found this one and fell in love with it. So I did my first wrap!
Notice the handle improvement (and YES, it is the size of some BFM vents ). Also notice the holes at the base. What are those for you ask?
Well, when the lights are on, they not only light up the scoreboard, but also those holes so that the players can see the front of the board. Looks kind of like bowling ally arrows if you ask me, and i dunno... kinda poetic amirite?

My fifth and final (so far) is yet another colts set. Yeah, it may seem fanatical but I created these only because I ordered extra Colts decals. Yup, that's it, just extra decals.
I call this set the "Home and Away" set:
This one is actually up for sale locally as of this date. (I get a minimum of $300 per set) Hopfully it will find a good home soon.

That's all for now.

man those are top notch!!
Love the led ring.
hum... not enough BFM bracing going on though, you need like 12 more ribs in there, I want to also use them to drive my tuck up onto. HA Just kidding, they look great!

Haha, thanks and yeah, I just know Bill will be in here soon to chastise me on the lack of bracing.

Cornhole must not mean what it used to mean.

Yeah, that's what I thought when those things started showing up around here a few years ago.

Re: No more studio - but Cornhole!
Wow, James, those are awesome. Never heard of "cornhole" until we moved to Indiana, but I have to admit, it's not a bad picnic activity. In fact, at my first outing with my Tubas, we had a cornhole tournament in the parking lot at my work. None of our boards were anything as spectacular as your creations, though. Sorry the studio didn't pan out as expected.

Re: No more studio - but Cornhole!
Thanks and wow, color me surprised. As popular as the state and national tournaments seem to be, I naturally assumed it was country wide.
Looks like it is another euchre scenario. I remember in the mid 80's having to teach it to many from outside the midwest in the service.

Re: No more studio - but Cornhole!
Being from europe i have no idea what this cornhole deal is but those things do look nice!
I hope you get back on your feet after the studio debacle.
I'm certain someone with your skills and motivation will be ok in the end.

I just remove the access panels from my T-60s and lay them in their sides. Instant cornhole set!
