Identifying a varistor
Identifying a varistor
I've had some of these varistors burn out in an electronic device, and the replacements I'm finding online come in about eight different choices. How do I select the right value?
2 DR250s, 2 27" Lab15 T-60s, 2 30" Neo Titan 39s, 1 Autotuba...and looking for more!

Contact the manufacturer of the electronics?.
The value will be in the schematic...

Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Re: Identifying a varistor
The lettering and numbers identify it's values. Somewhere there's a chart to use for comparison.
Re: Identifying a varistor
I finally found the faint, tiny lettering on the BACK. Up till then I was trying to work solely off of the part number on the front. The very friendly assistant Electronics professor at the local Community College was invaluable in helping me. She hooked it up to various oscilloscopes and multimeters and figured out the values.

Re: Identifying a varistor
I know, right? At least I don't have to buy 10,000 units this time, or wait 2 months for production time.
I'll just sell a t60 to cover the cost.
