Speakon NL4 wiring

#1 Post by Riflefeet »

I tried finding a straight answer for this with a google search and little clarity.

I want to wire my titans so I can run two per channel on of my amp. I'm trying to wire the left speakon in the jack plate to the right speakon to allow the right speakon to be a parallel thru. Currently I have 1+/1- running to the driver from the left speakon jack. If I connect 2+/2- of the left jack to the 1+/1- of the right jack will I be properly set up to connect the second cab and have the two running parallel?

I'm using crown itech8000 amps.

Wire the left and right 1+'s together, and both the 1-'s together. Do the same for the 2's if you ever think you will use 4 conductor speaker cable. Never crossover the conductors in the cab to different outputs #'s. That is just asking for trouble down the road when someone else uses the cabs or you forget. If for some reason you want to cross over the 1's to the 2's, make a small cable that does that and then label it as such.

that's what I feared.... the soldering of the wires on to that small of a prong is a real bitch especially trying to get two on there. ugh. likely just going to end up building some splitter boxes.

You only need one wire to solder to there. Make it about 3" long. Strip the other end of that wire and solder all your other connections to that end.

+1

Or, you can build a jumper like this.....once the two wires are together, it's easy to attach them to the connector if you've tinned it properly.
