What sounds equate to 30hz or below?

Sounds like a lot of good information, thanks to everyone who responded. Before I got into this website, I use to run an all JBL SRX system with the double 18's and double 12's setup. Before that, I did that car sound competition for sound quality, not SPL. I never had the need for an RTA, just did everything through ear. I built my Titan 48's 30 inch wide internally, does anyone have a chart of that? So far, dubstep and dnb sound really good, when the bass dives deep, everything starts shaking. So that is why I was asking about 30hz. Can I use some old bass mechanic CD's with the different bass cycles to test the titans?

you can pretty much put anything you want through your cabs. However, you have to have them hipassed/lopassed as per the plans, to avoid damaging the drivers.

there are no graphs of the 30 inch wide, but I'm sure you can draw some conclusions from those 2.

So do you think it would be irrational to put a 48db slope low pass at 25hz and high pass it at 80hz?

for the Titan 48? Absolutely irrational.

Lopass wherever you like. its a matter of opinion. The hipass is absolutely critical for driver protection. although the sub can produce plenty below 45 hz, its a matter of reaching the mechanical limits of the driver (destroying it).

QUESTION:

the impedence chart on that page (bottom) shows a huge spike at 32 ohms. Is this correlated with a frequency that is detrimental to the driver at full power?

This is where the the tuning of the cab unloads the driver, and after that, linear cone movement rises exponentially. Just look at some of the eminence spec sheets that show the impedance/sensitivity/cone movement.
