On a mild tangent: is output as related to voltage linear? Meaning is 50 volts going to be twice as loud as 25?

50 volts is 4 x the power of 25 volts. So it is 6 dB louder (on paper, in the real world the would probably be some power compression).
Usually 10 dB is heard as twice as loud, so close but not quite.
