2-channel or not 2-channel. 4 is the question.

So I now have a rack case with wheels and handle. I got it off of CL cheap. The ad said it was a 6u, but it's actually a 4u. The plan was to put in my 2 lightest amps, PA+, and power conditioner. Well that's changed. Now I can either load it with my heavy amps and leave the light ones in the regular racks, or I can get a 4-channel amp for sake of leaving one amp at home and portability. The Behringer model is the one I'm looking at. Thoughts, ideas, advice, criticism?

Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to buy another rack than to buy another amp?

Originally, I had 2, 2 channel amps, eq, driverack, and storage drawer in one rolling amp rack (cause having wheels makes EVERYTHING better, right?). Well the single unit was so mf heavy I about blew out my back every time getting it in and out of my hatch. Broke it up into two carry cases and haven't looked back yet! My 2ยข

I have a couple of the Beringer NU4-6000's, they're light and run my 4 DR-250's very well. It puts out ~48-49 volts / channel. If it fits your needs then its a great little amplifier. My only beef with it is the very loose IEC cable, it doesn't bother me too much as I don't move them around very much but for a mobile rig I'd buy these locking IEC ends . They work on any IEC connector.

Bruce, you got a point. But I like the idea of having everything in one place instead of separated over multiple racks. Two Crown XLS 1000's weight less than one Carvin DCM1000 and one Behringer NU-6400 weights less than one Crown. I'm not all caught up on weight (still young enough and lift heavy stuff at work all day), I just like it condensed like that. I'm a one man operation who does this for fun and have limited pack space. I thought about just getting a folding hand cart, which I guess it's the same as a rolling rack. Now I'm all confused on what to do.

I have a rolling rack that I built. It houses 4 Crown XLS, 1 Crown xTi, 3 driveracks, a Furman, and a board in the top. It rolls and goes anywhere I need it to.....by myself. Now, I do have a trailer with a ramp. If I was lifting, that would be a different story. Then I'd consider a shorter rolling rack and stack another rack on top - easier to lift in two pieces, but could still roll. I just like having all the connections in one rack that handle most of my shows.
