Bridging question

I saw Bills statement about bridging and would like advice as I have the option with my amp.

My GK2001RB head is 540w + 540w each into 2 ohms. Bridged it is 1040w into 4 ohms.
Most amps have minimum 4 ohms, and I don't intend on building more cabs just to get down to 2-ohms, so wondering if there is any issue using it in bridge mode all the time.

My Jacks are loaded with 3012HO's and piezo array (not melded)

The only way I'd bridge is if one channel per cab run dual mono isn't enough, which isn't likely.

Maybe I will trade this amp for a GK1001RB. That is just a mono amp.

Seems a shame that with both Jacks I will only have 240w into each, if the amp is in dual mono.

I run 160w into a single J12. Or at least that's what the amp is rated at, I'm sure I've never exceeded half that, and no one's ever had to tell me to turn up. Forget about watts, they really don't matter.

I do plan to try both Jacks first. A lot of guys here say that twi Jacks stacked is a much different animal to one cab.

Thanks for the advice.
