Power Amp Question

#1 Post by doncolga »

If an amp is rated to use 15 amps, does it pull that much all the time or if it's actually working wide open?

That's the maximum it should pull at 100% duty cycle, which almost never happens.

Awesome. That's what I was thinking, just wanted some affirmation.

Thanks!

Just for reference.....

Last Saturday, I did an outside show with my full system - 6 subs, 4 tops, four separate monitor mixes, the board (and my fan).

That included 1-Crown XTi2000, 3-Crown XLS1500, 1-Crown XLS2500, 1-Crown XLS1000, 3-drivereacks.....all on a single circuit. It may have been 20 amps, but I'm thinking it was 15.

Running it pretty danged hot.

No issues.

4 - OT12 2512
1 - T24

2 - XF210
