Thomann T.amp TA2400

#1 Post by Arben »

http://www.thomann.de/gb/t-amp_ta2400.htm

So i managed to pick up one of these amps really cheaply (this is my first 'pro audio' amp), hooked it up to my omnitops and wowzies, awesome, pretty amazed by the power and the difference between my hifi amp lol, just wondering if this would be suitable to power a pair of omnitop12's on one channel and a pair of lab12 loaded tuba 30's (i've got the drivers, just haven't built the boxes up yet) on the other (mono)? or would i better off getting another amp to power the otops and using this to solely to power the subs (stereo).

some copy/pasted info from the website

the t.amp TA2400 MK-X power amplifier
2x 1200W/4 Ohms, 2x 650W/8 Ohms RMS, 19", input sensitivity 0,775V, slew rate 60V/µs, damping factor: 500:1/1kHz/8Ohm, short circuit protection, limiter, THD <0.05%/1kHz, 2U. In: jack+XLR, out: Speakon & binding post. Depth: 44cm. Weight: 19,7kg.
Built:
OmniTop 12 x 2 (Straight Piezo Array)
Tuba 30 x 1 (Lab 12) (second one is on it's way)

If those are real numbers and not marketing hype - that will do nicely for a pair of tops and subs easily.

6 - T39 3012LF
4 - OT12 2512
1 - T24
1 - SLA Pro
2 - XF210

That Thomann amp is a workhorse amp. I've seen it used in many rigs. It's a well respected amp in the free party scene. Built like a tank and easy to repair.
