Amp porn....

#1 Post by David Raehn »

Just in case you would want to take eighty T48s up to thermal limits:

For ~$24k, looks like a good deal! :noob:
BFM rig:
6 OT12
4 T48
4 WH8
Other:
56 box Electrotec LabQ rig
Way too many cables
:noob:

I cannot imagine the power pins on that little guy carrying 40 or 80 amps of current without melting.

AC Power input in Three Phase mode : 3x 400V (25A**) no Neutral connection needed
AC Power input in Single Phase mode: 230V (63A**)
Operational AC Voltage range in Three Phase mode : 3X 208V- 3X480V 45...65Hz operational.. if single phase loss
Operational AC Voltage range in Single Phase mode: 90V- 275V** 45...65Hz 400Vac proof in single-phase mode
Maximum AC line current draw in Three Phase mode: 3X 32A (Separated AC Power limiter for AB and CD Channels)
Maximum AC line current draw in Single Phase mode: 80A

It uses a modified MIL-DTL-C5015 connector. The specs on these can be found here:http://www.5015connectors.co.uk/LMJ-Thr ... ctors.html

It seems the largest pins can handle 150amps. They are very short so no different than a fuse. Might want to dry your hand first before you hot plug that cable in :fingers: .
Built:
17" width 10" driver Autotuba
2 x 29" width dual Lab12 Tuba60
6 x DR250 2510/asd1001
In progress:
2 x DR250 2510/asd1001
For best results, point the loud end of the array towards the audience

I was talking to a professional sound engineer a couple of weeks ago. They had 2 400a gennies just to run the subwoofers. 325kw of amplifiers.
If it's too loud, you're even older than me! Like me.
