first titans

#1 Post by quickdraw »

My first set of titans is ready to fire. 3015s.
Im from the old school. Back 6 years ago I pushed large mulitples of ev dl18
400 w @ 8o with the new (at the time ) QSC plx 3402. Correct application was used. Sounded great. Then went back to the older qsc mx 3000.
Woha momma, They jumped prob twice the bump. Both were used same very simular output. Now with todays lighter more inboard effect/limiting I understand, note taken. With that said, suggestions on amps to fire up these titans with that older class A style push, but with todays onboard goodies. I want the new amps of today, but by far would stick to the old ACTUAL output difference. Im new to the bfm stuff, so easy on me and thanks for your expertise. QD

Ashly. Nice blend of old iron and new technologies. They kick subs like nobody's business. For serious horsepower on the dsp front add the Protea.

Uh, I just happen to sell them also. :fruit:
Dropped Crown when I found these.
If it's too loud, you're even older than me! Like me.

quickdraw,
Just so you know, your titans won't sound the same as those EV's. They will be "cleaner", with less harmonic distortion.
That can take a (short) while to get used to.
If you can get them to 60V without being impressed though, errr I'll eat my hat...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

+100. I'm using the Protea 3.6 in an intimate venue that produces shows for the up and coming country artists out of Nashville. It is easily the most straight forward, user friendly, cleanest dsp I've used. and definitely beats the dbx Driverack 260 in ability, ease of setup AND price. I love it! :D
