Peavey CS800x What can it Drive ?

Peavey CS800x What can it Drive ?

I just now had a CS800x fall from orbit and land in my lap.

What sub's can I drive with it ?

I'm a BassNoid but not a TecNoid, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

The CS800x can drive any of the subs here...and with a hard limiter will give reasonable results. The amp will reliably deliver 45v into any supported load.

So, I can get 45v from each channel.

What sub combination would that equal to ?

Tuba24, T39's ?

You can use any sub, just don't combine different models. The pro sub designs that most builders seem to go for are T39 or T60. T24 should only be utilized if you really need the small form factor.

One example of a setup would be 2 T39's, one cab wired to each amplifier channel.

I bet that hurt......those things weigh about 70 pounds. Used my first one in 1978.

4 - OT12 2512
1 - T24

Well a closer look will tell you the amp is a CX800x at 45lbs and here at my location near 7.5lbs.

To be more specific with my questions. What drivers and combination of speaker cabinet design will this amp drive the best. Above I'm told it will put out 45volts.

BP102, S2010, S2012, the Beta's, the Deltalites.
T18, T24, T30, T45, T39, T48.
Put a limiter in front of the amp since some of the drivers are under the wattage, and a spike from the amp will toast the driver (and you won't hear the driver complaining......it just stops  ).

How many volts will these accept ? and does this change for each speaker cabinet ?

I guess I mean is at what voltage should I set the limiter for these speaker cabinets with a particular drive ?

My interest is to choose a speaker cabinet design and driver that will best match the CS800x

I'm just now learning about Limiters.

T39 BP102 loaded is a great match for this amp.

Lab12, 3010LF, 3012LF are limited to 50v so those would also be great options with that amp. Cabs for said drivers: T39/T45/T48/T60.

Weird, because a couple weeks ago I had a couple CX800's fall into my lap too, only difference is no x at the end. Must be something about that model number name this time of year. Mine only lasted a couple weeks until they flew the coop so be careful and don't open the door. They did manage to leave their little ones behind although I suspect they"ll leave too come spring.
Built:
17" width 10" driver Autotuba
2 x 29" width dual Lab12 Tuba60
6 x DR250 2510/asd1001
In progress:
2 x DR250 2510/asd1001
For best results, point the loud end of the array towards the audience

So what would I limit the volts to this speaker ?

PK Sound eh? Tell me about those please... They seem to get a lot of love from bassheads but then bassheads generally don't know what they're on about so a quick overview from yourself would be lovely if you can find a minute!
