I am seeing the prices of the IPR series going down, especially on ebay for new units, after the release of the IPR2 series, which costs more.
I have poured over the spec sheets of all of them and cant find any difference between them
http://www.peavey.com/products/index.cf ... %3B2000DSP
http://www.peavey.com/assets/literature ... _11722.pdf
except the IPR2 DSP 2000 says 530W RMS x 2 at 4 ohms
and the IPR DSP1600 says 515W RMS x 2 at 4 ohms
and the IRP 1600 says 530RMS x 2 at 4 ohms
The IPR 3000 DSP
440W per channel at 8Ω, or 1,490W per channel at 2Ω.
IPR2 3000 DSP
1500 watts RMS per channel at 2 ohms
I also notice on the original non DSP series the voltages published were slightly higher than the DSP version and the new IPR2 DSP values are published the same as the old non DSP versions.
Other than a lil re-branding I cant see any thing different.
Does anyone know if there are differences I am not aware off?
Thanks

I don't know of any, apart from more blue light and the silver/black thing.pumpsfast wrote: Does anyone know if there are differences I am not aware off?
You can be sure that if the amps are blessed with having both an arse and an elbow, Peavey won't be able to distinguish between the two.

What does that mean? My mother would shoot me for not knowing this.Charles Jenkinson wrote:You can be sure that if the amps are blessed with having both an arse and an elbow
And besides appearance changes the prices are much higher on the IPR2

You'd better ask your mother if she knows it.
EDIT: I mean the turn of phrase!

Re: Peavey IPR and IPR2
I thought there were more options on the DSP functions in the 2nd series.

bzb, you are right. Limiting pg 32. Reverse polarity pg 31 and a nice explanation on filters on pg 30 which makes no sense to me
IPR2 so far im not seeing auto wizard as the IPR has.
The limiting is done via manipulating the input signal, so you have the DDT knob (which we use as a limiter) and the internal programming feature of the limiter. Which I would say would make the amp more flexible from a power output point of view, i.e too much amp for drivers could be limited down.
Well all the lab 12 users know we want 50 - 55v so the IPR 2 is not a benefit unless you superscript too the headroom being a necessity thing then go for an IPR2 DSP 3000 and limit. Or an IPR 1600 DSP and rely on the DDT to protect.
I guess that about sums it up.
Disclaimer the above is based on the IPR2 5000/7500 manual. I cant say for sure if the 2000/3000 is the same. Cant find a down load on that. Similarly I cant find a down load on the original IPR 4500/6000. Go figure.
