Looking for an amp that will...

#1 Post by BrentEvans »

Send a network notification (email, software, whatever) when it faults, overheats, etc. These are for a mostly unmonitored paging environment and it would take a long while to be noticed if they're not monitored.

Any ideas?

Brent,
Line voltage systems or "ordinary" amps?
A quick google shows:
Powersoft
Yamaha XP and XH
QSC CX168
series amps all claim to have remote monitoring via PC.

The QSC needs an add on accessory, the CM16a to monitor.

If the amp can be monitored on PC, I guess a software guru could knock up a programme that would/could notify by one or all the methods you mentioned in the event of a fault...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

The yamaha looks interesting... I also have been looking at some of the Crown products which have error reporting through Hi-Q/System Architect.

I was hoping for a product that could generate an email error notification without an intermediate software platform, but none of them seem to do that.
