Xti-1000 is it good for a Table Tuba or 2?

#1 Post by gilscales »

I did ask this on the home theater area but I think this may be a better area to ask, I want to know if I use an HT receiver for all other channels and the xti-1000 for a pair of Table Tubas if this would work using the dsp as the x-over and would it be a good way of powering/integrating them into the HT system?

I'm sure some other, far better qualified folks will chime in here - but in my experience, most home theatre units have a single RCA for the subwoofer, which is already crossed over. An XTi 1 would be fine to power any Tuba, but it's probably overkill. Your sub(s) will go WAY louder than the rest of your system.

It would cost me more for 2 plate amps or about the same as 1 xti-1000 to power 2 dual loaded TT's I just don't know about the integration of the xti and a HT receiver?

I know almost nothing about home theater, but if the above statement is true, you may want to check out a QSC GX3 amp. I believe they have RCA inputs on the back, and they are $299 new (Musician's Friend has a factory restock for $249 right now). I personally don't have any experience with the GX line from QSC, but I loved the PLX2 series amp I used to have.
