On Board Amp

#1 Post by Bill Fitzmaurice » Mon Oct 15, 2018 2:01 pm

This on board amp from Parts Express looks good, at a price that makes sense.

It could be mounted on just about any of our full range cabs with minor modifications. It has enough power to drive a pair of cabs, so it would be easy enough to install a 4 pole Speakon on the cab containing the amp and one on the extension speaker. Full DSP that includes crossover, EQ and limiting plus Bluetooth makes this a very attractive rig.

Not to mention it has two amps on board, making a biamped cab possible.

That's the only way you'd want to use it. Until now nothing in this price range had all the features you want, especially the DSP capability.

The first time I saw these amps I though the eq was a 5 preset aka rock pop vocal etc but upon farther investigation it is 5 band parametric with 5 saveable settings. these amps are needed in this industry. That’s a win for parts express and Dayton audio. I wish Dayton made more drivers that met these horn loaded demands.

It would fit on the side, mounted upright towards the back of the cab.
