FINALLY got to hear my truck tuba. I dropped it off at a friend's a while back since my truck isn't ready for it, and he put it in his F150 back seat. Stopped by this evening and had a listen. OMG, an 8"?!?! It sounds really good. Didn't have much time to play with eq or settings, so I am sure it can sound even better. There seemed to be some ringiness or something, more noticeable at lower volumes. Played a variety of stuff - so much better sounding that a distorting direct radiator. One tune I played was We Don't Talk Anymore by Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez. Not a huge fan of the song, but I've found it's a decent test for low end. On a lot of systems I've listened to, the lowest bass note in the chorus doesn't even show up. The tuba literally vibrated my eyeballs. Try it and see if what you're listening to hits that note. There's also some little ghosty things going on that I never even noticed before.
Anyway, thanks Bill! This is going to be awesome when I get it running in my Excursion.

I think you're the most patient guy I know.
Not sure what you like to listen to. I listen to a little of everything. Next time you get over there, put these in your pipe and smoke it.
Too $hort, In the Ghetto, very tastefully rebassed
Not as tastefully done, but lots of energy down to 22Hz
Johnny Cash, down to 16Hz
Pretty sure it will play all of those... with authority... on only 150watts.

I find this one a funny track to try out on horn loaded subs. Without a solid low end it is rather boring. If you have a clean 40Hz or so it is
A bit of an understated low end bomb.
