Floor to ceiling array.

For livingroom sound better than in a theatre.

Floor to ceiling array.

#1 Post by gac800 »

Can I extend the TLAH to run floor to ceiling? Ex: adding more drivers to make it closer to 8 feet tall?

You may, but I wouldn't, not unless your listening position is at least 25 feet away.

Thanks, this is because the distance between the ear the outer drivers and then Center ones will significantly different if you are to close?

Correct. With sufficient distance, say three times the array height, the separate wave fronts integrate.

So would I just extend the closed side of the box down as long as I need it keeping the same angle? Or would it be better to build another box to the same specs and flip it upside down (mirror image)?

It really would call for a full re-design.
