Hey
I recently bought a second hand THT cabin without a driver installed. I was hoping I could model some drivers myself, but I dont find the specs anywhere.
I know the standard driver is the Dayton RSS390, and I think the Ultimax 15 also works great, but I would like to know the whole list to make the correct decission (economic wise). Would an eminence lab15 for example also work?
Hope anyone can help, thanks in advance
Maarten

Re: THT - hornresp/possible drivers
Acceptable driver T/S specs are fs 17 to 30Hz, Qts .3 to .5, Vas 100 to 320L, xmax no less than 9mm.
Re: THT - hornresp/possible drivers
Thanks!
I see the LAB15 is just narrowly within the parameters, would it be a good fit or would I compromise too much against the recommended driver? (fs 28hz, Qts 0.35, Vas 105L)

Re: THT - hornresp/possible drivers
The Lab 15 is best suited to narrower versions, 20 inches or less.
Re: THT - hornresp/possible drivers
Mine is 90x75x80cm big. So defeintely larger than 20 inches. Other options (going from loudspeakerdata dot com) are almost all Dayton (including the very cheap DCS385) and some other lesser known non-PA brands (allmost all card subs, not suitable to be horn mounted). Other suggestions for the large version of the THT?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: THT - hornresp/possible drivers
Am I required to enlarge the 12" cut out of the THT to allow 15" driver mounting?

Re: THT - hornresp/possible drivers
Only if you plan on using a 15" driver.
