Compressor, gate, compressor, limited settings

#1 Post by DJ Higgumz »

Got a all in one proccessor with the things above rane dc 24 also has built-in crossover, so it has individual settings for sub and tops. I understand what the effects do, I just want to know the settings they should be at

Gate and compressor have threshold and ratio, limiter has just threshold, so it's probably a hard limiter. On the back there is switches for each channel, 4 db and -10db. Using it for djing, with more rock than electronic
Before Fitzmaurice, big bass could only be had with just a hook and a nightcrawler.

The switch is to change between pro gear and home use. Home hifi stuff runs at -10dB and pro equipment runs at +4.

As for the other settings, you need a multimeter to set your limiters to the levels set out in the plans for your drivers. You don't need the gate, and the compressor is not really needed for dj except to try and control them. ;)
