According to Black Box Short Haul Modems in their manuals it says that inductance caused by the shield knocks down length of runs by 1/3 with communications signals. That shoildnt be an issue for most of us since we are taking 1 vs 3 mile runs.

Subharmonic, is that a comparison of unshielded and shielded cable? Mic cable is after all also shielded, even if not as much as DMX cable. The difference should be less if you compare two different shielded cables, I believe?
