Looking for ideas to cover/mask the ports on my SLA Pro. As they sit right now, I can see clear through them. No big problem I guess so long as insects don't barnstorm them, or someone tries to toss something in there.
I was thinking maybe a piece of thin black grill cloth or spandex stretched tight and stapled from the inside. Something that would still allow me to use them as a hand hold, without otherwise looking like a deposit slot.
Don't want to affect the acoustics per say, but also don't want to tempt fate with eventually having to fish something out of there during a job with all those drivers sealed into place.
SLA Pro vent coverings?
SLA Pro vent coverings?

Grill cloth or Pet screen (screen door mesh), or even a metal grill........but I don't know if spandex would let enough air through.

Perforated metal panels or metal screen is the way to go. Grille cloth or spandex is going to end up having holes either ripped or burned through them.
Re: SLA Pro vent coverings?
Either way you'd have to make it box-shaped or else you couldn't get your fingers in the holes, right?

Re: SLA Pro vent coverings?
That's why I was leaning more towards stretched grill cloth. Something that my fingers can push out of the way when I lift from there. In hindsight, I should've milled the vents on the back side of the cab, but I've gotta work with what I've got now.
Also had the idea of using a metal screen held in place with magnets, but don't want to contend with a handful of discrete parts that can get eventually lost or tampered with over the years.
I do realize that any cloth placed across the hole is gonna vibrate to an extent.
Spring loaded mesh screens on hinges that rotate out of the way would be the Unicorn solution I suppose.

If you're going that route, I would make sure that the "loose" end is folded over to prevent finger/hand scratches. Ugh, why am I saying that? You know how to do it.

Chinese finger trap of death
Just cover them up with metal and speaker grill cloth and mount some handles on the outside
