Was looking (again) at the different designs and I noticed that the performance of the Simplexx design is rated as 5, while the performance of the XFX design is rated as 9.
What does this exactly mean ?

As the Celestion F12-X200 is not the most efficient speaker (97dB), I'm in doubt again to rebuild an XF212 but 30mm (1 inch) deeper to accommodate the longer speaker instead of building a Simplexx 112 wedge or tilt back.

I also read very good things about the Jack 12, which has a performance rating of 7, but it is almost always in the context of bass guitar.

Which out of the 3 you guys think would be best as an FRFR guitar cabinet ?
Thank you for bearing with me!

Simplexx is intended for bass, key and PA use. It's rated a 5 because it's competing against the Jack and DR series. The XF probably should be rated at 10, as I can't think of any commercial guitar speaker that's anywhere near their equal. The Jack is almost always mentioned in the context of electric bass because that's what they're intended for. It's not a guitar speaker. If I was going to build an XF212 as an FRFR guitar cab I'd save a lot of money over the F12-X200 by using the Eminence Beta 12 CX with ASD 1001 tweeters, with the crossover used in the Simplexx 12.

Thanks for the clarification Bill, XF212 it will be then.
The Eminance Beta 12 CX + ASD 1001 + crossover is more expensive than a Celestion F12-X200 here on the old continent...

I already purchased the XF212 plan and have experience building one, so I will build a new one with a closed back and 30mm (1.2 inch) deeper to house two F12-X200's.
Only need to figure out now/where to add a compartiment for the PWRICE-125 as this plate amp is not sealed and they recommend putting it in a seperate/closed compartiment.
Worst case, I just screw a box to the back of the XF212.
Alternatively, I make the XF212 not 30mm (1.2 inch) but 80mm (3.1 inch) deeper, with some internal bracing and an internal compartiment.

Will making the XF212 deeper affect the sound a lot ?

Deeper won't make any appreciable difference.

Celestion is going to pickup the speaker and investigate.

The speaker also will not fit the XF212, it is longer than a regular speaker.
About 4-5 cm deeper than my Celestion REbacks that I have in the XF212.
i know it's been a while but, after all, celestion changed the speaker?

because I got an F12X200 for my 2x12 recently, and I felt this rattle and I even thought it would be my cab vibrating or something, but it seems that it comes from inside the speaker, straight from the voice coil.

We gotta heat that flux capacitor up. Can't play a show without the required 1.8 gigawatts of power.
Otop 12 x 4 (Delta Pro 12-450a) 2x melded, 2x straight
Titan 39 x 4 (3012LF) 20" wide

Speaker has not changed as far as I know.
Mine rattled as well, it was one of the very first speakers.
Sent it back to Celestion, it turns out the plastic cap was not 100% secured, causing it to rattle.

So if yours rattles, you have a faulty one and you should get it fixed or replaced.
