Faital speaker question for 12" Simplexx

#1 Post by Askia » Fri Feb 01, 2019 1:22 pm

Hello Experts!

After some adventures, I've ended up using a Faital 12PR300 ( https://faitalpro.com/en/products/LF_Lo ... =101050110 ) in my Simplexx Tiltback, and I'm very happy with it. I'm using it with a BGH25-8 crossed at 3,5 kHz and tamed with L-Pad, to match volume.

I'm thinking of upgrading, for better dispersion, and equal volume level (not needing an L-Pad) with a 5" driver M5N8-80 ( https://faitalpro.com/en/products/LF_Lo ... =101010100 ). It has the same sensitivity, and has a nice dispersion, according to the charts...
I was thinking of the best crossover point would be around 1KHz?
What do you think? Thanks!

I'd say no one else has done that with their Tiltback, so they have no basis to give advice. That includes me.

It's possible :) I might be the pioneer of this area :)
I am curious about the theoretical aspects of my idea.
