Sla pros 5" and a small T39

#1 Post by Rob Shasta Guitar »

Well you can get the point of the sound on these, but sorry for the wind noise. The speakers have another gig this Sat with a full band, I'll get better footage.

My part of the gig was at 9 am, so I felt comfortable wearing pjs. My friend Ryan is the live looper with all the pedals and tricks, including an octave thing to sound like a bass.

We are all impressed with these so far. Crisp and warm, the sub is smooth and thumpy.

The board is an Allen and Heath pa12, amp carvin 4 channel with the drive built in. I made both guitars as well as the speakers and mixer case.

edit: I just read the sticky about inferior videos. I know these are not great, if they should be deleted that is fine. I do realize now though that I should post what it was recorded with to give perspective, this is a Sony HDR-MV1 which is the musician's camera with nicer mics.

We really love these speakers and I enjoyed this project for the well done plans and the incredible result.

I really like that natural finish.

I don't know if it's an optical illusion, but that T39 looks very deep.

The camera is a fixed wide angle so there is distortion from the lens. The T 39 is 1/16" under spec in depth, so just a tiny bit small. The natural finish matches my guitars and is part of my "thing" as a style, no logo on the guitars is also part of the style.

Sorry for the several year delay, they are the 5" drivers 5w-8 eminence. They still kick butt, loud and clear, but the best part for me is that they can be soft and clear. I personally play dinner music, I can fill a room with sound and still leave plenty of space for people to converse.
