4/7 braces PL’d and pinned. Picture makes them look a little wonky but they are dead straight so far.

Cut my panel 8s. Had some annoying tearout on the exterior side of the angle that meets up with panel 7 :cussing: Oh well, nothing that can't be filled, just a little more work. One is now installed but I used all 4 of my big clamps, so that's it for a while. Maybe will go make the little corner panel 9s to be ready for later. Happy with the progress though.

Sun’s out. Saw’s out. On a roll, so got all the corner panels cut, plus all the braces except the big ones. Not sure if I’ll do something different there or just copy my first two. Time to clean up for the day and enjoy a gift from some friends

Panel 8s are in, as well as panel 9 corners and 8/2 braces.

Used a pattern following router bit and a template to cut hand holds into the top edge of the panel 7s. Such a clean, easy way to cut those in. I put a piece of quarter round behind in the corner, and little triangles at the ends so crap can't fall down in there (or kids stick candy wrappers and boogers inside...). I only put the cutout on 7, since that's where I reach over and grab when tilting them back onto the wheels. Will probably retrofit the same onto Tuba's 1 and 2.

Pic of the panel 7 grips.
Also, Amazon delivered a roll of ofc 14g for the internal wiring, plus a pack of speakons. I have feet, corner casters, corners, driver screws, black latex and duratex. Might have to see if I have any gasket tape for the access door, otherwise I think I have everything I’ll need to finish these in a few weeks.

Just a bit of progress tonight, straightening up panels 10 and 12.
So when I bought my 5x5 sheets of 1/2" BB for my first two tubas a few years back in Indy, I picked up enough sheets to make a total of four that I ultimately wanted. They were cheap at the time, around $20 I think at DSI - great place. Based on some posts I read recently, seems ply has gone up!
Anyway, the 20x20 panels I had grabbed from Menards were perfect and square for using as my middle panels, and I didn't want to jack that up so left them as they were. However, 60" can't quite make 3x20" with the saw cuts out of the 5x5 sheets, so I used by jigsaw to cut the 30x60 chunks into 3 20x30 pieces for panels 8, 10 and 12. The jigsaw's thin blade let me keep the maximum amount of ply, but the cuts weren't perfectly straight, so I strapped on a guide and used my trim router to get them square. Should be good to go now. I can't seem to get truly perfect cuts with my circular saw, jigsaw, or table saw (they're all pretty cheap tools), even using jigs, but the router was the bomb for fixing up the janky cuts.
Everything else on my assemblies has cured, and they are sooo freaking solid. BB with bracing makes for a stupid strong box!!!
I know, I know, PL can fix a multitude of sins with regard to the cuts, but it still bugs me if the pieces don't join up square.

One panel 10 and braces in. Not enough big clamps for the other cab. Still really square :hyper: Used a few 23g pins for the initial alignment, then cranked on the clamps and pumped in some 18g brads. Super solid.

Another worthy tip, I believe from Bruce: when mating up the outside corners, leave the overlapping panel long, and then cut it later. I scribed nice lines to show the where the butt joint goes, then bring them together and clamp and brad nail. Having the extra meat there makes clamping easier, and if something is off a little bit, it will get masked when trimming off the excess. Great idea.

That's a great little piece of advice. I've had a couple edges/joints like that, that for whatever reason, ended up less than flush and I've had to add filler or glue on a strip of scrap trimmings on to makeup for the shortcoming. Always turns out okay, but to intentionally make it a little proud is genius. It's all getting a flush cut and round-over anyway. And it always looks so darn good afterward, like a clean shave. Thanks for passing that along
