Second panel 10 and braces are in. Panel 9 corners coming up, time to start thinking about backside speakon mounts...

Re: Things that go boom
Well Seth, unfortunately a van decided to run a red at 50+ the end of last week and took me out hard. Happy to be alive - literally - but everything has gone on hold for a bit. Maybe will try and bumble around a little this weekend. I'm at the point where there's lots of little stuff that I surely don't need to do on the build, but that I think and think and think about, and then spend all kinds of time doing anyway. Like extra bracing, reinforcements, best way to run interior wiring, and such. Hope to post some more progress soon.

Oof! Dang Bill, sorry to hear that man. I'm glad you made it out alive and, apparently, well enough to bumble around.himhimself wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 8:29 pm Well Seth, unfortunately a van decided to run a red at 50+ the end of last week and took me out hard. I hear ya on all the little details and thinking that goes into them. It probably tripled my build time for the WH6's I have yet to finish. When I just stick to the plans, they go much much faster. But, it's the little personalized parts and finishing details that are fun to get all geeked out on.

Re: Things that go boom
Thanks guys. Took the hit on the driver's side, just ahead of my door, so could have been much worse. Spun my car so hard I then side swiped the van, and ended up going head on into a light pole. Banged up pretty good, displaced and bruised ribs in the worst part. Everything else is starting to heal, although the bruising is pretty amazing. Quite the perspective reset...

Maybe you should get one of those sand crawlers for your daily drive.

Re: Things that go boom
Hmmm, don't think my insurance claim is going to be sufficient to pick up a used sandcrawler...
Got a few little odds and ends taken care of today:
Did the caster cutouts, with some messy (don't judge!!) but solid reinforcement. I took the cutouts and split them in two, then glued them to the underside to provide a second thickness of ply to screw the casters through. Then trimmed some 5/16 pieces to fit between there and the backside of the corner panels. Had to trim out a little pocket for where the bolts on either side of the axels can fit. Overdone, for sure, but super strong.
I put 3/4 x 3/4 quarter round under the rear handle cutouts. I notched out the back so I could route the 14g wire from one speakon to the other. That way I'll just have a single penetration into the driver chamber from the rear jacks, and another from the front pair. Last time I routed each of the 4 speakons separately.
At the speaker wire penetrations, I remember fussing with PL to get a good seal last time around. This time I took some little squares of thin ply and cut two side by side holes to fit the wire fairly snug. Then I blooped some PL, slid the square down tight and pinned them to cure. Should swell up and guarantee a nice airtight seal.
Cut out some little circles of 1/2 ply to fit under the front rubber feet, so they will match the height of the casters in the back.
That's it for now. Hurting and can't mess with anything large or heavy for a while. Will post some pictures shortly to help show the progress.
