Things that go boom

#1 Post by himhimself » Sun Mar 14, 2021 3:28 pm

Finally making a start on T30 #3 and #4. Other than a few speakon jacks I think I have pretty much everything to make the matching pair. Not much free time, so will be slow. But better late than never.

Cool. Enjoy your builds!

Should this go in the "Builds" section?

You're right, Tom, probably should. Is there a way to move a thread?

Need to pick up some fresh plywood blades before I cut the access holes in the side. Got me thinking (dangerous, I know):
I was considering making the access flanges one-piece this time. Any reason not to do that and glue them to the backside right at the start? That would give a nice edge for installing the first panels. As I recall, it was a little bit of a pain to get those positioned and screwed in from the underside. With the flange already there, they could be butted up against it and pinned both to the flange and each other, then just clamped down through the access hole while they cure.

Also, Bill, can you can bump this over to the build section? I'll continue to update as these come together. Thanks

No reason at all not to do that. I did one-piece flanges on my last T39 build - great alignment tool for other panels and easier than trying to add 'em later.

4 - OT12 2512 Melded/NSD2005

2 - XF210

Thanks Chris - you have the power 8)
And thanks for the vote of confidence on putting on the flanges first off, Bruce. Definitely going to do that.

Freud makes a rather good blade, and not TOO expensive.

Freud Diablo are excellent blades at a good price. They're much better than plain steel plywood blades. I use 100 tooth on my table saw, 60 tooth on my circular saw.
