New THTLP

#1 Post by Trippigs »

I just received a new THTLP from my builder and wanted to share a few photos. It is the 36” version with a Dayton Audio RSS39HF-4 (15”) driver. Hooked up to Klipsch LaScala industrials , a McIntosh MA252 and a Dayton Audio SA100 subwoofer plate amp. Getting used to it but really pleased with the construction and performance. I do not have a DSP but set it up using my ears and am impressed. It does not overpower the LaScalas but you know it is there....actually kind of subtle which is ironic given it is a monster in size. I think it is a keeper!

Lots of bracing missing for a 36" wide cabinet unless the pic was a during process.

Always fun breaking in a new driver.

Its best to borrow or invest in a microphone and do some measurements if you are able, then you can properly set up the crossover.

Oh it was in process. The builder was meticulous in following the instructions. He is an audiophile as well as an accomplished speaker cabinet craftsman. Listened to Some Donald Fagen tonight which was great. I forgot to turn on the plate amp for awhile and could really tell a difference when I did turn it on....sound kinda blossomed
