Got the mouth braces installed and stained, going with natural danish oil instead of dark for the braces. Only have to finish staining the mouth and front panel. Impressions coming soon!

So far so good on the testing, clean, deep, punchy, effortless bass in the carport. I didn't break in the woofer before installing, so the initial impression had me a little uneasy, but things have improved drastically since. One or two more coats of oil before she goes to my house for a meet and greet with the la scalas! Sounds great so far even with direct radiators.

Well I got everything home, had to re-arrange the whole room to have the sub in a good sounding unobtrusive location. My end goal was to have a sub/entertainment center. The sub is firing into my bay window area with about a 6" gap between the wall, getting a smooth response without cancellations (at least to my ear, no measurements yet). The sub blends well enough that it sounds as if the bass is radiating from the la scalas, you can put your head close to the bass bin and it will sound as though bass is radiating from the bin, but when you put your head inside, the illusion disintegrates. You can see my cable management is a wreck right now, but there are more changes to the room coming, so things will be changing soon. Using an ev dc one, bessel filters 12 db, at 90 and 130hz, set amplifier for the scalas and a sherbourn the tht. Very happy with the results at the moment. Thanks everybody for the help!

Sweet! Great job. Thanks for the update and little bit of a performance review. BTW, the stain looks really good. Really made the grain pop.
