Impressions?
I played a '65 Jazz through it....sounded fine to me....I'm a guitar player, so what do I know?

I had it sitting up on my work table. The low E sounded full and solid with the amp pretty much set flat. I think it can take everything that the TKO can put out.....but, I didn't push it all the way...

Wow, beautiful work! I am envious. Good looking pro work! A very appropriate selection all the way around too. That cab will let the TKO be all it can be for a bass rig. Sweet!

65 Jazz Bass...too cool. I once had an opportunity to acquire a 61 Jazz Bass and a blond piggyback Bassman (2x12 cab) for $300 in about 1971 from my next door neighbor. I was a kid bass player with no $$$. I recently saw an article on "Holy Grail of Bass"...guess which rig it was...yup. A clean original rig was estimated to be worth $20,000 for the amp and $27,000 for the bass guitar.

Thanks.....the TKO should shine through the Jack.

The '65 Jazz was my bass player's daily player.....he passed away almost two years ago from cancer. I sold all of his gear for his daughter, but I wanted to keep the Jazz in his memory...so, I bought that one.

Had the official weigh-in this morning.....

Jack 15 - 53.2 pounds

Amp - 15.2 pounds (although it feels much lighter than this)

The Jack 15 is a bit unwieldy to carry. The balance is good, but it's still heavy.

Hey all, here are my impressions:
1st - It looks AMAZING! Bruce did a fantastic job and just the amp section alone turned out way better than i could have hoped for. This is a sexy looking rig!
2nd - It weighs so much less than the TKO Combo.
3rd - It sounds AMAZING! I got to play it a little in Bruce's garage (the neighbors were treated to some really mediocre Tom Petty bass lines). I have played it a bit more at my house and it really does sound WAY better than the original combo configuration. The 2515 (which was a total surprise) reproduces the full frequency spectrum of my bass tone very well. Loud or quiet, the tone is the same. I cant wait to try it at a gig!

- In the past I have owned bass cabs that have had a tweeter (410, 1X15), and with this cab, I dont miss it that much. I would be interested to hear what the cab would sound like with a small tweeter array, but its not a concern at all because it sounds so good.

Thanks to Bill for designing this cab and HUGE thanks to my buddy Bruce for taking the time out of his busy (basketball and naps,LOL) schedule to make some sawdust for me.

Nice build Bruce. Looks great. Where did you end up putting the handle?

On top. Found the balance point and put it there.....pretty much right on the baffle line as per the plans.

Well, the Jack 15 had it's maiden voyage last night. Mike had his End of Summer Pool Party (bring your own pool) at his house. Both of the bands that he plays in were there. Our band went first and our bass player played through the Jack and loved it. It sounded good to me being on stage with it too.

After we finished up, Mike's other band played and I got to sit out front and listen to it. It was really fat and full with lots of bottom end. Pretty amazing that a 75 watt bass amp through the Jack can sound like one with a lot more power. Very efficient cab.

The bass players really liked it and it sounded great out front....mission accomplished.

As I approach my 39th anniversary (doesn't seem like a day over 50), I remember fondly my good looks before saying "I do". But, this face is testament to decades of spousal abuse.....

Okay, okay......I've got the best wife in the world...she lets me build anything I want, spend what I want, and park the trailer in the driveway. I'm truly blessed.....but, as a card-carrying male, it's imperative that I gripe and bitch about her anyway....it's just the way things are done.

What do you say to a woman to get her to stop having sex with you?

"I do".

We said that 12 years ago, ...Mrs J always wants more

So I duly crank the bass +1.
