No worries, as long as the joints are airtight you're good. When the shortest wavelength being passed by the cab is eleven feet an eighth of an inch here and sixteenth of an inch there isn't going to have any effect. This is one case where close enough is good enough. :hyper:

Bill, that's definitely good to know. I do my best to make things square and true. It makes it easier to look at, if you know what I mean.

In the end, these things will go in the back of a trailer, be set up night after night, and probably get beat up pretty good. I don't know what I'm so worried for. Probably a little pride in there somewhere...

Got bored today when the family all decided to disappear and play with their new stuff, so I went in the garage and made progress. Finished the construction on one canlb and almost finished with the last. Before you know it I'll be applying Duratex and testing the whole system I'd like to do that before I go to Turkey for sure.

Thanks, Seth. I appreciate the look. This may be the longest build project in the history of the BFM forum. Haha

Made even more progress today. Got panels 9, 11, mouth braces, and grill mounts installed on the last cab. Trial fit the 3012LF, drilled mounting holes, and filled all the holes I could find with PL. All I have left is panel 7, driver covers and finish work.

I think I'm going to pick up a cheap HLV Sprayer for the Duratex. With three of them to cover I want to save some time. Also, I'm interested to see if the sprayer gives a more even coat. More to come...

Nope. Not by a long shot.
My "current" build, another pair of DR250's, started in Dec 18, has not yet been completed
12 months ish is nothing compared to some.

Looking great so far Bryan. I'm sure they will look (and sound) a treat when you've got them all stitched up!
Also looking forward to your reaction when fire them all up the first time, and take them towards war volume...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

I can imagine it'd take me a year or more to build some DRs. I'm guessing in your situation that life just happened? I think that's why I'm sticking to the Otop 12s and Titan 39s. I think I'll build 4 x SLA Pros when I retire and probably another 4 x Titan 39s. 8 mains and 8 subs should be enough to do anything I want to do.

I say longest build in history because I bought my Otop 12 plans in 2015. I finished those late last year I think then jumped into the T39s early this year. So far it's been a 4 year project and it won't be complete until mid/late 2022. In the end, I just want a system that's versatile and large enough for whatever I want to do musically. I'm positive it'll do that. It'll probably one of the most efficient systems in the mid-Missouri area. Can't wait!!!

Nah...Grant just lives so far out in the sticks that everything takes a while.....hell, electricity is 3 days old by the time it gets there....

6 - T39 3012LF
4 - OT12 2512
1 - T24
1 - SLA Pro
2 - XF210

Damn.
Bruce, that's a great one!!

Bryan, kinda. I spent a lot on lighting and a new digital desk in that 12 months, so funds have been a little tight.
Same with time.
Probably most telling, I will only need this pair for larger gigs, and, not a lot of my work is larger gigs, so, there's been no rush.
And, I'm slowly learning not to rush...

Bruce,

Totally get it. We had Christmas sandwiched with two birthdays, a ton of medical travel, and Murphy. That's why I haven't spent the dough on the last three 3012LFs I need. I've been using the one I have to complete the cabs.

I look forward to seeing the finished DRs all set up with the rest of the system.

Grant, that is pure zen.

Finally put my new HVLP through the paces. The spray grade Duratex still had to be thinned a little but not a ton...somewhere between 5% and 10%. It definitely does not come ready to spray. In the end I'd do it again. But I'll make sure to roll one one thick coat to get that rough texture. Spraying it makes it much smoother that's for sure. Now just to purchase the three 3012LFs and another amp and I'm all set.

I bet your gun is the reason why you had to thin the Duratex. The best gun to use is a hopper gun. Being designed to handle anything from popcorn texture ceiling paint to thinned drywall joint compound they handle Duratex with ease.
