Quick newbie question- driver mounting

#1 Post by scout63 »

Instead of using individual screw backer blocks to attach my 3012LF in my tuba 45s, I am using a continuous 1 inch wide ring. I've seen this done on other posts but got to thinking- any issue with this?- would it in any way impede the sound transmission?

thanks
Greg

It won't bother anything, it's just using a lot more wood than you need to.
