DR200s

#1 Post by J_Dunavin »

This will be number 5 and 6 DR200 in my setup.
It's not the latest revision to the plans, but the other 4 are also older plans and I wanted it all to match.

Thanks! Sure takes long enough, but it's well worth it!
My other four are not ported, but I think I'll try and port this one and compare, before I paint it.

Progress has been painfully slow. Just getting the time to get out in the garage can be a challenge.
Both inner horn sheeths are in though.

Made some more progress.
The PVC halfs are a pain, but I just took a little off at a time, till I had a smooth fit.
I took some measurements and tried on my other DRs and skipped out on the access hatch and the doublers for that. I found the beta 8 will fit sideways through the hole for the array, and I have plenty of access to all the screws.

Finally got a belt sander, worth it's weight in gold!

Careful with that thing, it has the precision of a chainsaw. Random Orbital's can do the same thing without the danger of gouges.
Built:
17" width 10" driver Autotuba
2 x 29" width dual Lab12 Tuba60
6 x DR250 2510/asd1001
In progress:
2 x DR250 2510/asd1001
For best results, point the loud end of the array towards the audience

Ya, you really have to be careful. I've been taking my time, and so far things have been going smoothly.

Sorry about that, I've got the back curved pieces on and sanded flush, but I've been super busy helping a buddy build his two Dr 200s and his four T24s AND trying to get my six T45s in progress as well!
I've been taking pictures of the front nacell and making some notes that I hope will help others.
I'll try and load some more photos this weekend... If I can dig my way out of this mountin of saw dust.
