What amps/dsp are you using? Just curious.
Built:
17" width 10" driver Autotuba
2 x 29" width dual Lab12 Tuba60
6 x DR250 2510/asd1001
In progress:
2 x DR250 2510/asd1001

Here's the whole shebang...
Small Denon 2ch mixer with 2 pioneer cdj200s, phone as an auxiliary source and I'm running MIXXX on a laptop with an audio kontrol 1 as the external sound card into the other aux in on the Denon. I plan on going all digital and looking at different controllers.

Anyway, all that runs into a DBX driverack PA+ ( got a great deal as a last years model sale) that goes into Peavey IPS 150 for the highs, IPS 400 for the mids ( yes I'm bi amping my piezo array DR200s,not for power, but I like the control of turning down the highs).
Peavey IPS 800 on the four wide T45s and another IPS400 on the two narrower T45s .
I know I'm not getting full power output of the 45s and that's ok for now. Those Peavey amps are tanks and have searved me well. When I do replace them it will be for weight purposes.

I should do a write up of my lights at some point.
I have 5 diy flood lights and have made some diy wireless dmx receivers (artnet) to save on running 100s of ft of cable.
I also repaired some older American DJ pocket scans, litteraly with a $10 power supply 😄

Has someone, installed and or could someone tell me if these would have a negative impact, if I were to install them in the driver chamber area?

I could really use a handle on either side to pick these up.

Also looking at some sort of extrusion to protect the edges, has anyone laid down something like this along all the edges?

For corners, I use and like the looks of these plastic ones.

Then for skid plates for going down stairs and loading into the truck, these skateboard rails work well.

I see you used fir ply so your edges will be fairly soft so I can see the need for protection. Too late now but baltic birch with rounded edges doesn't really need any protection, just something to think about for the next build. Trust me, there will be a next one, lol.

May have an opportunity to bid on some live audio gigs.
This would be pretty small stage stuff, outside, maybe 250 people.
I feel that the six DR200s would be enough, but would the six T45s be ok?
I’ve got a phone call tonight, ill try and get some more details.

Math it out. What's your maximum SPL at 1 meter? What SPL would you like to achieve and at what distance from the stack?

Every doubling of distance subtract 6dB.

Example: If your max is 130dB at 1 meter it would be...
124dB @ 2M or 6.56'
118dB @ 4M or 13.12'
112dB @ 8M or 26.24'
106dB @ 16M or 52.48'
100dB @ 32M or 105'
94dB @ 64M or 210'

At least I think that's how that's supposed to work :fingers:

You need to -6dB's every doubling of distance.

You're right. Let me fix that

True , but each doubling of audience size doesn't double distance. If you have 100 people each occupying 10 square feet that's 1000 square feet, which if a square space is 32 feet per side. If you go to a square space 64 feet per side that's 4000 square feet for 400 people, so you need to double cab count for every quadrupling of audience size.

For 250 people I'd take it on with 6 T45's. How spread out is the crowd and what is the expectations of the gig? Loud rock and roll head banging concert or casual listening music while you eat food truck grub? You lose at least half your volume outside compared to inside due to no walls or ceiling to reflect that energy back at you. The bigger question is do you have the means to power your rig outside? Outside usually means lots of long cables. Do you have tarps and bungees for everything in case the weather turns foul? If nighttime, who is doing lights including some wash for the patrons to walk around? How level is the ground? You'll need some blocks of wood to shim everything. Only way to get into outdoor events is to get your feet wet but lots more preparation for outdoor gigs.

Be sure that there is a service grounded breaker box no more than 50 feet from your gear. Indoors you can get away with being further from a true service ground, but not outdoors.
