Finally started T39 build

#1 Post by y2kindyz »

I finally started a pair of T39's. :hyper: They will be loaded with the 3012LF and be 23" wide. Laid out the 4 side panels, drilled and marked the lines as per plans. Got all the panels cut . Hope to get some progress done this weekend.

I have a INUKE 3000 for 2 Jacklite 12's and a Peavey IPR3000DSP for the T39's. I have a Behringer mixer and a Driverack PA2 for limiting.

Thanks Tom, I hoped to make progress this today, but one of my employees is getting married, so maybe tomorrow.

Houston we have a problem. What is wrong with this picture?

Yup, I got in a rush and put the anchor on the wrong side of panel 2 on one of my T39's. I Didn't realize till it was too late and now I have to cut another panel 2 and the anchor :bash: it was too late to run my router so I continued to proceed with the baffle I got right.

Eh, frustrating, isn't it! Too many things running around in the head at the same time. Once you get the cabs finished and running though, it will be a distant memory.

Yup very true. I was able to redo panel 2 and anchor with blocks. This time I used router for both panel and anchor. Much better fit than previously done with jigsaw. Also braced up 3/5 panels on T39 #1. Plan is to get them done by Thursday for youth conference dance on Friday. I doubt I will have a chance to paint them but I don’t think the kids will mind

Ok I was able to catch up T39 # 2 and added panel 6 and the extension. So far except for the baffle hiccup build is going faster than I expected.

I guess after building a pair of T30's, J15 and J12lites the build techniques become easier. There have been a few times that I second guessed the plans, but I have come up with the following "When it doubt, follow the plans"

Many thanks to all members that take to time to respond and Bill for great designs and build techniques.

Well looks like its a no go for T39 at the dance tomorrow unless I get off work early to finish them up. It's 1am and all I need to make them functional is to install driver and make up access panel. We'll see if I we are not too busy at work and maybe I can button them up before the 6.

It's a wise move to delay at this point as you need to do all the necessary leak testing. You've done all this work and I wouldn't rush now. Otherwise, the build is looking good. Which handle option did you go for?
