I received the l-pad from qcomponents.ca today, fast shipping, soldered it and it works like a charm, can't be more happy :)
Now i can finish it as soon as i receive the jack plate.
I'm glad i did the model with tweeters, without them it would be too dark for me... with that l-pad just reducing a bit it's perfect like 1/10 turn attenuation and it's good, might change when the cab is fully donne with damping and such but that leaves a lot of possibilities :)

Now i'm thinking adding a sub in parallel to each cabinet so that each side of the amp will drop at 2ohm, about 1200W per side mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm dammmmm maybe later haha

What drivers are used in the simplex 18 sub?
Is it possible to build it at 4ohm?

You'd have to have a crossover...and you can't run them parallel with the top boxes. Subs on one side of the amp.....tops on the other.

a crossover in the sub yeah? what's the prob with that?
Why can't i parallel a cab with a sub? if they are both 4 ohm...?

You never use two different speakers together without a crossover. Well, not if you know what you're doing. And why do you need a sub? Isn't this an electric bass cab?

Ok... i thought i could use one chanel of the crown poweramp into this 4ohm cab paralelled to a sub that has a crossover in it also 4ohm, like... i thought the amp would give the same signal to both, then crossover inside the cab and sub does their work... that's not how it works?

yes it's for bass and i really feel it will be incredible once it's done but i love subs and i might use that system in some party or like i said at the jam space for music playback, or even i might mix some songs on a daw at the jam space with that rig.

The crossover in the Simplexx does not have a high pass for the woofer.....so, you'd be sending the same frequencies to the Sub as the top - not good. If you used a passive crossover in the sub to split the signal between the sub and top - the one that Leland sells crosses at 150hz. Buying the parts to build a passive crossover lower than that gets really expensive.

Finish your cab. Play it for a while.

Honestly, most bass players are striving for all the extra low end, but in reality, it sounds like crap in a real venue. Let the PA do that work. And if you don't have PA support, the 212 should be plenty loud and low for most venues.

Ok thank you, yes indeed i don't plan to bring the sub at a gig, just one 212 will be more than enough

I swapped the tiewraps ends to the top side and removed some wood to leave place for the tie wrap band under, this way i can screw it more securely on the braces.
