I recommended TLAH based on it being a permanent install, which gives you the option of hanging the mains up out of the way. Another option is SLA Pro, which is much shorter.

I believe that any of the designs discussed thus far will be good choices. Ultimately, your decision will need to based on the physical structure that you are going to be installing these in/on, your abilities in woodworking, and cost.

Maybe a picture of the venue would help.

6 - T39 3012LF
4 - OT12 2512
1 - T24
1 - SLA Pro
2 - XF210

Will the SLA keep up Bill? Would the TLAH be better or would they be pretty close for my purposes? Thanks!

Unfortunately, I need to build the speakers before the venue is finished. Will be about a 30'x60' room. 12' to 14' ceilings with wood paneling on the walls.

Post a diagram. And advise whoever is building it that wood paneling looks good, sounds bad. Required reading:

I will read the article now. Ultimately want it to sound good and look good. I was planning on building wood diffusers and will most likely be doing the finishing of the walls myself. I obviously don't know what I'm doing.....but I am capable of building stuff :/

Bill, Do you recommend buying realtraps? Or should I be building my own stuff to stay money conscious? I've built pine diffusers before which was my plan for this room. I do have a limited budget. I imagine some barn wood type panelling will be fine as long as I'm finishing the room with acoustic traps and diffusers. I will keep reading through these articles.

I recommend building traps, they're a lot easier to make than speakers.

Ha ha. That would be fantastic if the place that builds these to sell told me how to make them. I found some diy stuff easily on the web, just didn't know if some methods/materials are better than others.

Make a box, fill it with fiberglass, cover the front with burlap or other open weave fabric. It doesn't get any easier.

Oopsie. They used to have a DIY bass trap page of which I couldn't find at the moment.

What Bill said about building traps.
Space it out from the wall/corner to be more effective in the lower frequencies.

The Otop series has perhaps a few dB less in output than the DR series. Either will sound great, and crystal clear.
The Otop series you will build way faster than the DR series.
So it's a slight trade, time to build vs output.
Otops also naturally stack easier than DR's if you end up building more than a pair...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...
