More painting and sanding. Three coats starts to look pretty smooth, although you can still see some pencil lines though it.
Re-installed the wheels and installed the feet since I'm willing to call the bottom white enough!

Re: T39 20"
This is exactly what I'm doing now such that I finish my current sub build before it has paint and finish completed --> already sitting on a pair of subs that haven't been duratexed yet, solution: build dual driver sub, buy one sub to check clearances but wait on ordering the second until it is painted-> then order.whines wrote:
Initially I'm ordering just a single 3012 driver, the speakon jacks and a pair of casters so I can get the cutouts right. I'll order the rest of the hardware later in the build process when it's relevant. Maybe I'll be less tempted to rush when I don't have boxes of pretty parts just begging to be installed when I SHOULD be sanding and painting.
.
Congrats on the beautiful build, tomorrow I'm going to check to see if my clamps can invert like you showed. Clever as all heck if they can.

Re: T39 20"
Fourth coat of primer on the access panel and it's ready to install.
Measured out and drilled the holes with the panel in place, then removed it to vaccum and apply two strips of gasket tape running on either side of the holes.
1-1/4" Kreig screws added and it's in place! Only one slightly spintered edge, not bad enough to worry about. I love the pre-washered heads on those screws.
Speakons soldered on, and I was able to test it out...no leaks, no rattles. Next is scewing them in---it's really tight in there so I soldered the wires on sideways so hopefully they'll fit.
(vice sitting on a copy of the plans since its black base marks up the white paint if it even TOUCHES it. Discovered this after wiring the first one)

Re: T39 20"
Speakon jacks screwed in--they fit fine, and I'm quite happy with my decision to use a 1/2" backer and screws rather than 1/4" and bolts. Much less of a PITA.
All corners and slide rails attached, so it's decoration time! Getting busy with markers.
Once this is all done I'll get a pic of the whole stack assembled!
