The SLA got more attention than the T18 today.

I started by cutting the rough whole for the array using the table saw:

I glued and built the array last night:

A quick jigsaw and the hole is made:

I jigsawed out the driver holes and tested the positions:

For the handles/ports, I first drilled a 6mm hole as a guide then using a 1 1/2" hole saw to complete:

It was back to the table saw to finish the holes:

A quick sand and they are done:

Some glue everywhere and a few misguided nails, this is what I have:

Fast forward to the textured paint phase. The areas that have had filler are showing up as a slightly darker colour. I'll have to keep an eye on that once the paint has dried.

The final stages, I found some time at lunch to do some wiring. Here is the crossover glued and screwed to one of the holes for the drivers:

I'm not a fan of soldering in case i make a mistake:
SLACrossClose.jpg
I sat the crossover at the base of the cab and secured with screws:

Unfortunately the piezo array didn't fit as it was pushing against the crossover:

A quick fiddle and everything was fine:

The Alpha 6's where pressing against the foam of the brace, so I cut some holes for the air hole at the back of the driver:

The wiring was down behind the driver and we are ready for screws this evening:

She's alive!

I need to do a bit of EQ'ing, I think it's a little 'honky' - we'll see once I get everything setup.
