Bill Fitzmaurice wrote:I visited the club today to help Bob dial in the system and check out the room acoustics. If I was playing this room with my band we'd use a pair of DR200s or DR250s and a pair of T48s. His eight DR280s and twelve T60s would easily handle a room at least four times the size of his.
The in-room response is phenomenal. I walked it from side to side, front to back, with my handheld RTA, and it's uniform everywhere. The output is crazy. A couple of times we had it up to 120dB halfway back in the room, with not the slightest hint of any distortion. No one could complain about the quality of this sound, and that was with the room empty. I noted a couple of acoustic improvements that need doing, and with those complete and the dance floor full of bodies this place is going to set a whole new standard for high intensity club sound.
A million thank you's Bill for your help and great design !

And just to be sure, from the website, Therapy is only open 12 hrs a week? Your entry and drink prices must be pretty stiff to make all this pay off.
The "Voice Of Bill" audio system, lights, fixtures, staff etc etc. Don't get me wrong I'd love to experience it but why only on weekends?
Yes we are only open after hours Friday and Saturday but we are open for private/big events earlier but have to stop serving alcohol at 1:00am. The club has about 700 people come through on an average after hours night. The $$ is made on entry fee $20-30 and water and red bulls at $4-6 :)do the math it's pretty lucrative.

Bob, any media, guest DJ or customer reviews yet? I wish I could have made the opening, sadly I am too :broke:

I really wish my fellow BFMers could experience this! If you can every make it this way please let me know!
So far most reviews are coming via social media but the buzz is huge! The sound system gets Huge praise from everybody! We even had most of the local nightclub owners come and see and hear it in person bucause the buzz and talk was overwhelming. I'll post up some reviews, let me dig em up.

Bob,
I know the builds are all yours.
If you are also responsible for the design, layout and install of the room and the lighting, you've done an absolutely immaculate job across the board.

Wish I could say I'd be popping in for a beer soon. Just to experience it :)

From all appearances, you don't need my good luck wishes, but all the very best for your venture anyway...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...
