First build titan 48
Just completed my first build, a 24" t48 with a 3015lf. I recruited a friend with more woodworking skills and nicer tools than my harbor freight saws. It turned out great, the biggest mistake I made was pushing the top (right side really) 4/6 brace in too far. It knocked panel 6 slightly out of square so we had a bit of squeezing and clamping to do when it came time to put the other side on. Still need to add castors and a handle and paint it. Had a show on Friday night so took it out for test. It out performed the grund audio 2x18 that I've been useing on less power. Was bridging the amp, qsc rmx850, for the 2x18 and just running single channel for the t48. We cut panels for a second cab that I'll put on the other channel. Can't wait to get it built. Next show is the end of September, hope to have it completed by then. What are you guys using to seal the access cover? I cut up a bicycle inner tube that seems to be working well.

Re: First build titan 48
It took about a week. 5 evenings, about 3-4 hours each. We cut panels for the second cabinet at the same time. Hopefully the next one will go quicker.

That doesn't sound like very long at all. I look forward to seeing the pair painted and v-plated... and hearing your review of the pair.

24". Can't believe how light it is. Haven't weighed it, but it feels like a feather compared to the 2x18.

You need to add more mouth braces then, there should be at least 2.
The 6-9" spacing specified for the rest of the panel braces also applies to the mouth braces.
One thing you absolutely do not want is panel flex. You can't see it, but it robs you of 3dB in output

Re: First build titan 48
If there are two sets on the inside of panel 6 then a single brace on the outside of panel 6 is enough, especially as panel 10 is where you'll find the least amount of pressure that could cause vibration. If there are only single braces throughout I'd be concerned.

Re: First build titan 48
Good catch, Grant, I guess that's why it says to read through the plans twice before starting. The good news is on the first set of braces I had just read about the braces being 6 to 9 inches apart, so there are two sets of braces throughout the inside of the cabinet. I guess by the time I got to this point, I was just excited to be done and got in a hurry. Bill, if you say it's enough,I'm not going to doubt you. However, I will be building at least one more of these. I am more of a function over fashion guy, but would like the cabinets to match. Would it be stupid to build my second one with just a single brace? Or should I just take the extra time to redo this one and do the next one with two braces? Or should I just not care if they match?
