Compression Horn Measurements

#1 Post by PrismAudio » Fri Jan 12, 2018 11:39 pm

So i'm looking at the J-array plan drawings, and i'm a little confused.

The Side Panel at the front is 14", which then becomes the Interior Dimension Between the top and bottom Panels.
Further on im looking at the Measurements for the compression horn sides and it says that its 14 7/16. Almost 1/2 and inch bigger than where its
is supposed to fit.

I'm guessing that it is a typo and it should be 14" not 14" 7/16?

The Plans also call for the Compression Horn to be set back 1/2", which would make the Dimension of the Horn less than 14" tall?

Is this for the OTop12? The horn side dimension is correct. Read the top of page 25, starting at the bottom of page 24.

No Tom,
The Q is regarding the Otop J array

Prism Audio,
have you checked or referenced the sketchup?
Built:
DR 250: x 2 (melded array) with March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" BP102 , 2 x 28" 3012lf.
WH8: x 3 with melded array.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Read the plans again. It has to be that long, otherwise it can't overhang the diffuser assembly by about ¼ inch on either end.

You are right, Grant. I forgot to include the part about the J array in the question.

Read the plans all the way through (before making sawdust, or even buying wood)
Repeat.
Build according to the plans.
Don't skip ahead.
Don't substitute.
Follow every step.
Trust the plans.
Don't drink and build.
Don't rush.

Accept that you may be FLAMED if you decide to deviate from the steps or measurements.

These are proven plans.
They can be trusted....
