Will the S2012 be suitable for the Omni 12 Tallboy as well?

It would, but since you're looking for maximum sensitivity you'd be better off with the 2x BP102 tens option.

Thanks Bill, I was just looking to have options in case I got bored with the Jack and/or if my son wants to reconfigure.

This chart shows the difference in sensitivity between the compression driver option and melded array. Obviously, the melded array has the benefit of better off axis response. But, the compression drivers are considerably more sensitive.

I'm curious how that plays out in actual power consumed to make equal output, as the piezo drivers are reportedly a capacitive load and require very little power.

I wonder whether the ASD option or melded array would better utilize battery life in this case. Bill, is there any insight you can offer?

The high impedance piezos use perhaps 1/10 the power that ASDs do.

Is that 1/10th figure for a complete array or each individual element in the array?

For the entire array.

I got to hear the blast box at a basketball game, it is pretty dismal.

I will try to upload the YT vid.

Listened a couple times on the laptop, then plugged my ear buds in... are you sure you posted the right video? Didn't hear anything resembling music except for a little toot toot about 3½ seconds in.

I think that was the point.....the music was totally eaten up by the ambient crowd noise and the bouncing balls.....

Yes exactly 🤣
The music is plenty audible for the girls listening warming up but in the stands you have to struggle and can only really pick it up right at the very end.

Of course, the only appropriate music that should be played during warmup at a basketball game is Sweet Georgia Brown.....and only if the Globetrotters are playing.

Well she's 14 and my son is a senior in high school, we are still discussing what to build....

I built a box for my wife's SXS and used some Skar(cheap car audio) pro sound 8''s and super tweeters.
I nicknamed it "permanent" hearing damage. It runs on half of the Taramps TS400x4 crossed over at 90hz (non adjustable).
My son wants to copy it to build a portable box for hangouts etc. but I reminded him we still need to build the Jack or Omni12 TB.
Either way I will post a build if I start on either one.

Does anyone have a video of a Omni12 playing by itself they could share?

I stumbled on a term in car audio/south American culture called Chuchero.
That is basically what we want to build. I think the Omni12 will do that perfectly with more low end than the common Chuchero.

A video is only as good as what it was recorded with and what it's listened to on. That's why I have SPL charts posted of the cabs and not videos. As for chuchero, most of what I see are primitive designs from guys who really, really don't have any understanding of even the basics of audio. Some aren't bad, but they're the exception.
